EDX WIRELESS JOINS THE TROPOS METROMESH PARTNER PROGRAM

EDX Wireless’ SignalMX® along with Tropos Insight and Tropos Drive, from Tropos will provide higher-performing, more comprehensive metro-scale Wi-Fi network design and optimization solutions for customers

Eugene, OR, November 14, 2005 – EDX Wireless joins with Tropos Networks through the Tropos MetroMesh Partner Program. In combination with Tropos’ announcement of significant enhancements to its MetroMesh architecture through its new family of MetroMesh operation and optimization tools, EDX is pleased to announce the latest release of SignalMX.

SignalMX includes a powerful MetroMesh coverage planning tool for use in designing and optimizing metro area networks, delivering accurate coverage and performance estimates specific to mesh architecture. The innovative capabilities of SignalMX address all aspects of planning city-wide deployments of metro area networks, from dense urban to suburban and even rural environments.

As part of the Tropos MetroMesh Partner Program, SignalMX provides tightly integrated data transfer capabilities to and from the Tropos Control element manager when designing Tropos MetroMesh networks.

Tropos also announced that it is opening its purpose-built MetroMesh OS to best-of-breed solution developers, including EDX Wireless’ SignalMX, via a series of application programming interfaces (APIs) that will encourage and accelerate development of additional tools and complementary products. The result will be higher performing, richer solutions for a full range of MetroMesh applications such as video surveillance, VoWi-Fi, broadband Internet access and more. SignalMX will also connect to the MetroMesh OS through Tropos-specific APIs in order to give customers the most integrated tool yet seen in this marketplace.

The first Tropos-developed MetroMesh tools are Tropos Insight, an advanced MetroMesh analyzer and optimizer, and Tropos Drive, a drive-test appliance to determine coverage and throughput in MetroMesh networks. Both products incorporate Tropos Networks’ experience gleaned from hundreds of metro-scale deployments.

Tropos Insight and Tropos Drive will be generally available in the first quarter of calendar year 2006, as will SignalMX from EDX Wireless.
